Invitation Monday – Our Wedding
Written By Katie
Before we announce the winners of the 2 hour engagement session from Derren Raser Photography at noon today, I wanted to share a few of the fabulous paper goods from our wedding. Our entire paper suite was created by Angela Brewer from Todd Studios and they are my favorite details from the wedding. Each of the pieces in the below photograph were stacked with the green bellyband with our fabulous monogram that Angie created.
To go along with our lavender sachets, we also wanted to tie in that element of sewing to our programs. I came up with the brilliant (though mom would say crazy) idea to sew the programs together instead of using the traditional ribbon. They are truly their own works of arts, and I couldn’t have done this without the help of my mom every step of this process. But it certainly was fun finding the right color thread and asking those ladies at the shop what needle could handle three pieces of card stock!
Beautiful! I love the colors! Did they hold together well with the stitching? I was thinking of doing something similar, but worried the thread would tear through the card.
That’s awesome. I couldn’t pay my mom enough money to help me out with something like that. Kudos to you and your mom!!
Kate, they did hold together very well with the stitching! It is important to look at the needle for the weight of the paper it needs to go through first, and then the give of the stich for opening/closing the program. The ends were knotted on each end to keep the threads in place. If you’d like more tips, send me an email!
