Love Notes DIY #1

Written By Katie

It is almost Valentine’s Day!  And to round out the week, I wanted to share with you a couple of really cute DIY projects over the next two days.

Absolutely loving this idea I came across on Ruffled.  Except I’m thinking it would make an amazing first year anniversary project for you both to enjoy and reminisce about.  Cortnie from Lollipop Events & Designs is the mastermind behind this awesome project, and I’ve added some suggestions below on some other elements you could incorporate.

Blow up a big oversized balloon.

Soak newspaper strips in water and glue, and when they are coated with the mixture, apply them to the balloon.

The picture below shows that after the balloon dried with the newspapers,  you then cover it with cut music sheets.  I also think any colored pieces of paper, or maybe extra programs or invites from your wedding would be fun to add to the balloon.  After you cover it with the papers you want design wise, you will pop the balloon and cut a small section in it.  This is where you could fill it up with love notes to each other (if for Valentine’s Day) or notes from each of the guests at your wedding.   To finish it off, reattach the cut piece.

You now have a really fun piñata to celebrate with.  Personally I wish I would have done something like this on my wedding day because I think it would be such a joy to relive that day with notes from our families and friends on our first anniversary.

Lots of love on this Friday before Valentine’s Day!
